The Modernist Bead Embroidered Brooch

The Modernist balances structure with ornament. An ivory-toned carved cabochon forms the elongated centre of the brooch, its incised linear pattern echoed by the more intricate surface of the rectangular panel above. Small turquoise accents punctuate either side, bringing a sharp hit of colour to the otherwise restrained palette of ivory, aged bronze and muted metallics.

The bead embroidery follows the geometry of each component rather than disguising it. Bronze-toned rounds give weight to the central form, while tiny seed and bugle beads create an irregular, almost skyline-like edge across the top.

Measuring approximately 6 cm long × 4.7 cm wide, The Modernist is substantial enough to hold its own on a jacket or blazer, but compact enough for everyday wear.
