Shield Maiden Bead Embroidered Brooch

Shield Maiden has a commanding presence, drawing on strong geometry, burnished metallic tones and intricate surface detail rather than obvious historical motifs.

A richly patterned, shield-shaped focal anchors the piece, its softly iridescent surface shifting through muted gold, bronze, green and hints of violet. Above it sits a dark circular element with an elaborate radiating design, surrounded by concentric rows of bead embroidery and a halo of warm golden beads. Curved metallic accents at either side broaden the silhouette and give the upper section an almost armoured quality.
