Madame Bijou Bead Embroidered Brooch

Madame Bijou has no particular interest in restraint.

Lavender, pearl, cream and gold crowd together across this richly bead-embroidered brooch, interrupted by an unexpected flash of brilliant green. Rounded cabochons anchor the composition while pearls, crystals, bugle beads and tiny metallic seed beads fill the spaces between in a wonderfully irregular arrangement.

There is something almost improvised about the design. Circles overlap, lines change direction and beads occasionally escape beyond the edge, creating a silhouette that feels energetic rather than carefully contained. The palette may be elegant, but the personality is decidedly eccentric.

Measuring 7 cm long × 4 cm wide, Madame Bijou is a compact statement piece with rather more personality than its dimensions might suggest.
