Counterpoint Bead Embroidered Brooch

Two very different elements sit side by side in Counterpoint, each allowed to retain its own character while becoming part of the same composition.

One half combines olive-green textile with a softly luminous central cabochon, surrounded by tiny cream and metallic beads. The other is darker and more elaborate, with a richly textured focal shifting between pewter, teal and subtle violet. Turquoise details punctuate the piece, while rows of warm metallic and deep green beads bring the contrasting sections together.

The appeal lies in the imbalance: smooth against textured, soft textile against sculpted surface, fresh green against dark metallic tones. Rather than matching, the two halves play against one another.
