The Counterfeit Truth

Not all fraud steals wealth.

Some steal reality itself.

The Falsifiers were counterfeiters, impersonators, alchemists, and liars who corrupted what should have remained genuine. They forged coins, assumed false identities, manufactured falsehoods, and presented imitation as truth. Their crimes undermined trust in the very things society depends upon: authenticity, honesty, and certainty.

In Dante's Inferno, they suffer from afflictions that distort and corrupt their bodies, mirroring the corruption they introduced into the world. Having falsified reality, they become living examples of distortion themselves.

Bolgia X – Falsifiers explores the unsettling boundary between the genuine and the imitation.

Bulgarian white rose opens the fragrance with breathtaking beauty. Elegant, refined, and seemingly flawless, it embodies the appearance of authenticity. It is the perfect counterfeit: so convincing that few would question its legitimacy.

Mysore sandalwood forms a luxurious foundation beneath the rose. Smooth, precious, and deeply coveted, it evokes treasures, rare materials, and objects whose value lies in their authenticity. Its presence represents the genuine article—the standard against which all imitations are judged.

Bamboo introduces an unexpected clarity. Clean and structured, it suggests precision, craftsmanship, and meticulous attention to detail. It is the artisan's hand, equally capable of creating masterpieces or convincing deceptions.

Butter lends an unusual softness to the composition. Rich and comforting, it evokes the subtle imperfections that make genuine things feel alive. Yet within the context of falsification, it also hints at the ease with which appearances can be manipulated and altered.

Tomar seed weaves through the fragrance with a warm, slightly exotic character. It introduces an element of uncertainty, encouraging the wearer to question what they believe they are experiencing. Is everything exactly as it seems?

Rum emerges beneath the smoother notes, adding a darker and more mischievous dimension. Warm, intoxicating, and slightly decadent, it reflects the temptation that drives many falsifiers: the desire to possess something valuable without earning it, or to create the illusion of value where none exists.

Together, the notes create a fragrance that feels polished, beautiful, and intriguingly deceptive. Every element appears harmonious. Every element feels authentic. Yet a subtle tension remains beneath the surface, inviting the wearer to question whether perfection itself might be the greatest warning sign.

Bolgia X – Falsifiers is a fragrance of imitation, illusion, and corrupted authenticity. It explores the fragile nature of trust and reminds us that the most convincing counterfeit is often the one that most closely resembles the truth.

Because a falsehood need not be obvious to be dangerous.

It need only be believable.
