The Gold Thread Wire-Wrapped Pendant

A dark copper framework holds the stone in place while a single line of gold-filled wire takes a less disciplined route. It loops, curls and crosses the surface, creating the impression of a golden thread drawn through the darker metal.

The contrast between the two metals is deliberately restrained. Oxidised copper gives the pendant its depth and structure, while the warmer gold-filled wire catches the light in fine, unexpected flashes. Beneath it, the stone brings its own abstract pattern of midnight blue, cream and earthy brown.

Hand formed and entirely individual, the wirework follows the stone rather than forcing it into symmetry, giving The Gold Thread an easy, slightly eccentric elegance.
