The Sea Witch’s Garden Bead Embroidered Necklace
Beneath the surface, where the light turns green and the currents move through strange submerged gardens, the Sea Witch tends her treasures.
The Sea Witch’s Garden is an elaborate statement necklace worked in a rich palette of teal, turquoise, sea green and antique gold. At its heart, folds of hand-dyed shibori silk twist and undulate through the bead embroidery, their fluid contours suggesting strange aquatic leaves and vegetation caught in a gentle underwater current.
The silk is surrounded by an eclectic abundance of beads, cabochons and pearlescent details, densely embroidered to create an organic, almost overgrown surface. Nothing feels too orderly—as though this curious garden has been allowed to grow according to its own rules, accumulating tiny treasures from the sea around it.
From beneath the focal piece falls a luxuriant fringe of seed beads, glass and shimmering accents. Dozens of individual strands move freely with the wearer, giving the piece a wonderfully fluid quality reminiscent of trailing seaweed and delicate marine growth.
The necklace continues the aquatic palette with an assortment of faceted and decorative glass beads, including striking sculptural beads that add texture and visual weight while balancing the elaborate centrepiece.
Bold, intricate and unapologetically unusual, The Sea Witch’s Garden is a piece of wearable art—a glimpse of some secret garden far beneath the waves, where silk becomes sea flora and forgotten treasures slowly become part of the landscape.
