Byzantium Bead embroidered Necklace

Designed as the companion piece to the Byzantium Earrings, this necklace draws on the sumptuous colour and ornament of Byzantine decorative arts without becoming a literal historical reproduction.

Turquoise and ivory dominate the palette, worked through intricate bead embroidery with aged bronze and silver-toned details. Pearl-like cabochons soften the geometry of the upper section, while a deep garnet-red focal provides a small but dramatic contrast. The elongated lower cabochon brings everything together with its branching pattern of turquoise, ivory and warm metallic tones, reminiscent of an ancient mosaic or fragment of decorated ceramic.

The turquoise cord keeps the elaborate pendant surprisingly clean when worn, allowing the detail and unusual silhouette to take centre stage.

The necklace measures 50 cm, extendible to 55 cm, with the pendant measuring 8 cm long × 6.5 cm wide at its widest point.
